London’s reputation for jewellery design is unparalleled and its heritage of jewellery making stretches back for centuries. Since the era of travel began the capital has drawn jewellery collectors and traders from around the globe, with the London hallmark the international standard for jewellery excellence and pieces bearing it being highly prized.
To celebrate its position as the world’s leading jewellery destination the city’s designers, manufacturers and retailers will open their doors and welcome visitors to a range of inspiring jewellery events across the capital.
London Jewellery Week is a glittering, city-wide festival of jewellery events giving visitors unique access to designers, manufacturers, retailers and luxury brands. It aims to increase consumer demand and awareness of London’s jewellery products and encourage visitors to key jewellery districts within the capital.
Now in its third year, London Jewellery Week has come to be recognised as a highly professional annual summer event, supported by the commercial jewellery industry and associated interest groups.Four magnificent cornerstone events will form the basis of a week of activities, encouraging visitors to experience London’s diverse jewellery scene. These events offer substantial opportunities for brand promotion:
The launch event guests will be a combination of media, celebrities, collectors, the jewellery industry and clients. Patrons of London Jewellery week include Sir Terence Conran, Nadja Swarovski, and Theo Fennell, Shaun Leane, Philip Treacy and Amanda Wakely.
Treasure 11 – 13 June A visionary jewellery exhibition, which boasts a huge following, showcasing collections from up to eighty of Britain’s most talented and exciting designer jewellers and brands, alongside presentations, seminars and product launches. Launch event: 10th June
The Goldsmiths’ Company events 7 – 11 June A series of exclusive events at Goldsmiths’ Hall, including the official London Jewellery Week launch party, the Day Of Knowledge seminars with industry heroes Shaun Leane and Leo de Vroomen, and the famous Salon Privé catwalk event.
Hatton Garden Festival 12 June A family focused one-day street festival celebrating the diverse jewellery offerings that make up the Hatton Garden jewellery quarter. There will be jewellery-making demonstrations, retailer special offers, a jewellery trail to explore, a street market and much more.
Green Street Jewellers’ Association Discover Jewellery magazine launch receptions and diamond trail 6 launch events for Discover Magazine in the Jaguar Boutique at the Berkeley Hotel, Knightsbridge. Additionally, an exotic diamond trail has been created to lead visitors round the best of Green Street’s jewellery retailers.
The full range of events, including special collection launches, exhibitions, receptions, seminars and fashion shows, will provide something for every jewellery lover. The London Jewellery Week website, official guide, PR and dedicated advertising campaign will attract visitors to events throughout the week.
Following hugely popular events in 2008 and 2009, the industry is driving forward London Jewellery Week with the support of the London Development Agency via the City Fringe Partnership.
Jaguar Cars Ltd has signed up as an official sponsor and Luxury Transport Partner and Professional Jeweller has come on as Official Trade Media Partner and Lanson Champagne is the drinks sponsor. Key industry participants have already indicated their intention to get involved, with the British Jewellers’ Association, National Association of Goldsmiths, the Gemmological Institute of America and a host of others joining the cornerstone event organisers.
